James is from Signal Mountain, Tenn. He has spent some time in Maine doing expedition mushing and some wheel (cart) training in Alaska. "As a sixty year old father, I am teaching our eight children to dare to dream and live your dreams." He is in his second year of training with Doug Swingley to compete in race mushing. He was sidelined last year with a training injury but, he is back to run the race this year.
